I have received a couple of requests for contact details of Malawi's Zodiak Broadcasting Station (ZBS) after publishing a post about ZBS in 2005. I have also noticed that none of the online business directories include Zodiak's details at the time of writing.

Project Description:
Based in Lusaka, Zambia, Zodiac Broadcasting Station is the only independent commercial radio station broadcasting from the capital. Since its inception, Zodiac has been committed to providing their listeners with reliable, accurate and free information. The station has also demonstrated a respect for human rights issues and an interest in reporting on those issues, specifically HIV/AIDS prevention and care.
Zodiak Broadcasting Station Manager, Mathias Manyeka, has repeatedly emphasized the importance of on-the-job training for Zambian journalists and welcomes the prospect of having a JHR trainer work in the Zodiak Broadcasting Station newsroom doing just that.
The selected intern will work in the newsroom of Zodiac Broadcasting Station, conducting workshops, on-the-job training and other training activities designed to build the capacity of Zodiac Broadcasting Station to report more effectively on human rights and governance issues. The internship has been designed to deliver sustainable development outcomes corresponding to CIDA’s priorities while improving the intern’s employable skills.
Focusing on CIDA’s priorities in Malawi—specifically health, education, gender equality and governance—this internship will build the capacity of the local media to report more effectively on human rights, especially those related to these priority areas.
This internship also relates to several of the UN Millennium Development Goals. These goals include: #3 promote gender equality and empower women (through increased reporting on women’s rights); #6 combat HIV/AIDS and other diseases (through increased reporting on HIV/AIDS issues).
